THE GX-CON 2007 OCTOBER 7, 2007, SM MEGAMALL!!!

GX-Con is the first-ever console gaming convention in the Philippines
presented by GamEX Magazine. Kindly mark your calendars on October 7,
2007 at the SM Megamall Mega Trade Hall 3 at exactly 10:00 am as we
bring you a never before seen gaming con for all gamers out there.
Ticket price will be at Php 100.00.

Get to play your favorite consoles, compete with other gamers, and
win prizes. We have lots in store for you. Various bands from the
anime community will be there to perform music from your favorite
games. Watch out for NeOtaku, Do'ahou, Progeny, Trance, Armada, PPF
All Star, Ethereal Anthem, 3 Day Trial, and Harap sa Likod. Also we
will be having contests like: Name that Tune, Game Trivias,
Tournament Finals, Individual and Group Cosplay, and many more.

We will give out consoles and games to lucky ticket holders during
our raffle. So if you want your very own Playstation 3 or Xbox 360,
see you all there!

Cosplay Competition:

GXCon cosplay event will be a GAME CATEGORY event where participants
could cosplay any character that they want from any console game
title. ONLY GAME TITLES THAT ARE APPROVED BY THE GXCON TEAM ARE
QUALIFIED FOR THE COSPLAY.

1. GXCon cosplay event is open to all event attendees.

2. GXCon cosplay event will be a CONSOLE GAME CATEGORY event where
participants could cosplay any character that they want from any
console game title. ONLY CONSOLE GAME TITLES THAT ARE APPROVED BY THE
GXCON TEAM ARE QUALIFIED FOR THE COSPLAY.

3. GXCon cosplay event will be held on October 7, 2007. The
Individual Cosplay and Action Cosplay events will be held on the said
date.

4. The cosplay registration will be on-site/at-con registration on
October 7, 2007 from 10am-2pm.

5. All registrants are required to submit a reference picture of the
character that they'll be cosplaying upon registration. Pls. refer to
the Picture Reference Submission section for the procedure.

6. Cosplayers under eighteen (18) years of age as of cosplay event
date must have their parent/s and/or legal guardian/s sign the
waiver/image release form.

7. Fanservice (ie. yaoi, yuri, etc.) is allowed but should
be "General Patronage". Any kind of extreme kind of fanservice (ie.
kissing, PDA, etc.) that is deemed inappropriate for minors are
strictly prohibited. Keep in mind that the GXCon is a wholesome and a
General Patronage event.

8. Costumes that are too revealing (ie. exposes private parts) are
prohibited. Scantly clad and/or sexy costumes are allowed but are not
encouraged. GXCon cosplay team has the right to disqualify any
participant on this ground.

9. All kind of costume props of costume props must be handled with
utmost care and must not be harmful to his/her fellow cosplayers,
event staff and event attendees. Any kind of sharp and/or bladed
objects that will be used as costume props that could cut human flesh
are strictly prohibited. Any kind of pyrotechnic equipment/s that
will be used as costume props that could render damage to the venue
and/or property is strictly prohibited.

10. The GXCon cosplay team, GXCon organizers and its staff will not
be held responsible for damage or injury resulting from mishandling
and/or negligence of a cosplayer in his/her use of props/materials
throughout the duration of the event.

11. GXCon organizers reserve the right to disqualify a cosplayer's
entry in the event that their group or any of their members ignore
and/or violate any of the aforementioned guidelines.

12. Registration and participation to the cosplay event constitutes
that the cosplayer gives the right and the authority to GXCon
organizers/staff, its sponsors and authorized press media to take
pictures and/or videos of registered cosplayers, cosplay groups and
its members and will be the sole property of the organizers/staff,
its sponsors and authorized press media to be used for future
publications and/or advertising promotions.

Individual Cosplay Guidelines

===========================

1. There will be any entry limit of 200 participants for the
Individual Cosplay. There is a deadline for the registration and
anyone who registered before the deadline is included to the official
list of Individual Cosplay participants.

2. All individual cosplay participants are required to be in costume
when registering for after the registration, pre-judging will start.

3. Individual cosplay participants are not qualified to join the
Group Cosplay event even as a minor role or as a prop.

4. Only 50 top cosplayers who'll be chosen by the judges during the
pre-judging will have a chance to strut their stuff on the cosplay
catwalk.

Group Cosplay Guidelines

=========================

1. A cosplay group must consist of at least three (3) and a maximum
of seven (7) members per group.

2. There will be any entry limit of five (5) groups for the Group
Cosplay. There is a deadline for the registration and anyone who
registered before the deadline is included to the official list of
Group Cosplay participants.

3. A member of a particular cosplay group can only join ONE COSPLAY
GROUP and he/she will not allowed joining multiple cosplay group/s.

4. A member of a particular cosplay group is not qualified to join
the Individual cosplay event.

5. All cosplay groups are required to have a cosplay skit. Each
cosplay group will be given a maximum of 5 minutes of stage time to
do their skits.

6. All cosplay groups are encouraged to act out from a scene in the
game that they're cosplaying.

7. All BGMs that will be used for the cosplay skit must be in audio
format (.CDA) or in MP3 format and must be within the limit of their
cosplay skit. Audio CDs must be properly labeled and submitted at the
event itself upon registration. A cosplay group is required to have a
sound director/representative who will assist the GXCon technical
team in the usage of their CDs.

Picture Reference Submission

===========================

1. Each cosplayer is required to submit a digital file of the picture
of the character that they'll be cosplaying.

2. All digital pictures must be in JPEG, GIF or PNG and must not
exceed 10MB.

3. All digital pictures must not go below 144 x 288 pixels (wallet
size) and must not go beyond 792 x 594 pixels (short bond paper
size).

4. It is highly recommended to submit a full-body colored picture of
the character that would be cosplayed. We'll accept black/white
pictures.

5. All digital pictures must be stored either on a USB thumb drive or
on a CD.

Console Game Demo:

Players take their turn every five (5) minutes in the free game trial
stations. Each player or event attendees get a stub upon entering the
trade hall, wherein they will use the stub as a ticket to play the
console of their choice. Before playing the game, player must first
surrender their stub at the GX-Con staff, and then the stub will be
stamped and signed.

After the five (5) minute game trial, the player must then leave
station to give other player a chance to play the game. A player
cannot play the same console game unless:

1. They go back at the end of the line
2. If no one is in line to play the game

Otherwise, player will have to go to other game stations and play
different consoles.

Last Man Standing
The contest will start on the first two (2) contestants to register.
A maximum of fifty (50) contestants per console contest. Winning
player will stay until other players beat him or her. The losing
player has another chance of playing the game, he or she needs to get
back at the end of the line and wait for his or her turn. The contest
will last an hour and thirty minutes, if the time limit has been
reached and players are still playing, they will have to finish that
round and the player who gets to beat everyone will be declared as
the winner.

Note: GX-Con staff cannot guarantee that all registered players will
be able to play the game since some of the game consumes time
depending on how the player plays it.

your friends as we bring you the first-ever console game competition
in the country. We will be having competitions for each console and
we will provide you a list of games for Playstation II, Playstation
III, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. Your favorite handheld console will
also be included (Portable Sony Playstation and Nintendo DS).
